10 things you didn't know about Live Life InTents

When I tell people that I work for Live Life InTents, I try to describe this company the best I can. Sometimes they shake their head; “don’t know it.” But then I say, “you know, the Margaree River Tubing company?” A smile breaks out over their face and they always go, “oh yes! I’ve been there! It was great!” or, “a buddy of mine went last year and had a blast. I can’t wait to try.”

While tubing season is extremely fun and it may be what we are known for, there are other things we offer, too! So much to see and do right from our campground. There are adventures we can take you and your family on, excursions that let you experience Nova Scotia’s rare, untouched forests, fresh river, and glistening ocean. Below is a list of some things you may not know about us, other activities you can do from our doorstep, facts about our grounds, and a few ways to save some $$$ if you’re coming our way this summer!

  1. We are located directly on the world-famous Cabot Trail. Seriously, our address is 8439 Cabot Trail. So if you are coming to visit us, you will get to drive at least part of the trail. You can continue the rest of it from our driveway!

2. We have solar-powered heated outdoor showers! A lot of campgrounds don’t have access to showers at all, and if they do you you might have to pay to use them. We don’t believe in any hidden fees and our showers are there for each guest to use and enjoy. If you stayed with us in the early years, well, these are a big improvement over the original shower bags! However, we can dig those out of storage if you want to revisit that experience ;)

3. Ever wanted to go Glamping? Wake up to a stunning sunrise over hills and the river? Watch the stars at night and get back into a warm, built-out, top-notch glamping tent? We have six. They book up pretty fast, BUT if you want to come in June, you’ll save some major money (up to 25% off). Plus, a Glamping experience package can save you on other things too, like paddle boarding and kayaking if you want to do it all! We have pre-made packages available here.

4. We work hand in hand with CB West SUP which means that you can kayak or paddleboard during your stay with us. If you book before June 1st OR add to any accommodations booking, you can save 10% or more of your adventure.

5. Interested in Fly Fishing? We’ve got you covered! We offer guided, local fishing on one of the best rivers in the world. We work with local guides who have extensive experience and will be able to guide you whether you’ve never fly fished before or have experience. All the gear is provided however you must purchase the license separately. Find out more here.

6. There’s almost nothing better than relaxing in the river. Almost. Except doing it with friends. When you take a group of 10 or more tubing with us, you get 10% off your tubing ride. So you can see the whole river, laugh with friends and do it for cheaper. Restrictions are pending, of course.

7. Want a little bit of everything? Fishing, tubing, hiking, kayaking? Whatever it is that you’re looking for, we’re here for you. You can build out a custom package suited to what you’re looking for OR pick from one of our curated experience packages. It can be family-friendly or more advanced backcountry adventures. We have a huge amount of experience and the best guides to take you around. When you book more than one thing (camping, hiking, tubing), you will save money by pulling a few different activities together.

8. The Cape Breton Highlands National Park is only thirty minutes away. That’s right, one of the most well-known, highest rated national parks in Canada is just a short drive down the Cabot Trail.

9. The ocean is a ten-minute drive away. There are three nearby beaches that wind their way up the coastline and each offers its own unique view of oceans, cliffs, and stunning sunsets.

10. The famous Dancing Goat Café is just down the road and is the perfect way to kick off any day. Locally owned and pioneered with local recipes, there is nothing here that can disappoint. You can start your morning off with pancakes, coffee and take baked goods to go for your adventure.

One of my favorite things about working from Live Life InTent’s is that there truly is so much to do and see. Right from here. We are located in one of the most gorgeous areas of Cape Breton Island. The mountains, the ocean, and the river surround us on all sides. There are waterfalls to see and creeks for your family to splash in. There are backcountry treks that will steal the breath out of your lungs. There is mature forest and clean air and the kind of wild beauty that makes you throw your arms up and shout because you’re just so thankful to be here and experience it all. Margaree may be a small area but in our summer season, it is rife with opportunities to adventure for all ages. I can promise that if you come this way, there will not be a shortage of things to do.

See you this summer?
