Adventure awaits at this eco-camping hostel set in a natural landscape overlooking a scenic river valley. Enjoy an off-grid camping experience with a touch of comfort, featuring furnished glamping tents that sleep 2 to 4 guests. Each tent includes a queen bed with additional twin camping beds for extra guests, along with cooking gear, bedding, and towels. Every tent has its own private firepit and sweeping views of the surrounding valley.
Guests arrive to a spacious 16 × 20 ft safari-style canvas tent pitched on a raised platform, offering plenty of room to relax with friends near Chéticamp and the gateway to Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Owned and operated by Live Life in Tents, the campground features tents set in open grassy areas with private views of the Highlands. Freshwater is available on site, along with shared washroom facilities and heated outdoor showers. Wi-Fi is available at the camp store.

We offer both 2-person and 2–4-person tents. Each tent comes fully set up with:
A super comfortable queen bed (plus two camping cots in 4-person tents)
Towels and makeup remover
Propane stove with pots, pans, utensils, and one 1 lb propane tank
A cookware bin stocked with plates, bowls, cups, and cutlery
Solar LED lighting inside and outside the tent
A private on-site firepit
Two chairs and a picnic table

Nightly rate: $115 + tax per night
$10 eco-fee per booking
$10+ per additional guest

There is no power in the tents themselves; however, a shared power and charging station is available at our shop.
If you’re staying with friends, you can add an additional campsite to your booking so extra guests can stay on the same site if they don’t fit in one tent.
All tours and paddling rentals are discounted by 10% for guests staying with us.

The tents include a queen bed, two single cots, and all bedding for each. They also include a cookware bin with a Coleman stove, cups, cutlery, pot and pans, tongs, spatula and other items.

Our tents sleep up to 4 people MAX. They are equipped with a queen bed and, two camping cots.

Yes, all bedding is included. The queen bed comes with a duvet, pillows, and a throw. The single cots include a pillow, sleeping bag and a sheet liner for the bags.

Check-in is anytime after 3:00 pm and check-out is at 11:00 am. Since we have a small staff here at LLIT, late check-out is not possible but early check-in might be so just ask us!

No, there is no power in our tents, but there are string lights and a small lantern.

Yes, we sell firewood for $5/bundle and packages of fire starters for $6.
Please note we do not allow firewood from outside of our campground.

Yes, there is fresh drinking water available in blue jugs at the bathrooms.

We do not provide a cooler nor do we have a communal fridge on site. Guests are recommended to bring their own and plan accordingly.

Yes. Our campground is a bit more rustic than others. We use composting pit toilets/outhouses for our toilets and offer heated on demand hot showers. If you’re looking for flush toilets and hotel-style showers then, this may not be suitable to your needs.

No, dogs are not permitted in our glamping tents.

Yes, we offer 10% off to anyone staying with us. If you’d like us to quote you on a custom package OR add an activity to your booking, just ask!

Airbnb and other accommodation platforms can charge 15% or more for service fees and they charge us (the host) another 3% for using the platform. We recommend booking directly with us when possible to save $.

All glamping bookings are fully refundable up to 14 days prior to booking. If cancelled between 14 and 7 days prior to booking, the deposit (50% of the total) will be forfeited. If cancelled less than 7 days prior to booking, the full balance of the booking will not refunded.
