Single Day Guided Hiking Tours

Hidden Waterfall

Difficulty: Moderate

Distance: 6km (out and back)

Duration: 3-4hrs (door to door)

Elevation: 500ft

Food: Snack Included

Explore one of the many hidden waterfalls Cape Breton has to offer. Meet your guide at LLIT HQ for this half-day tour. Walk along a valley brook to find a hidden waterfall deep within the Margaree mountainside.

2-Peaks Challenge

Difficulty: Moderate - Advanced

Distance: 7-8km (out and back)

Duration: 5-6 hrs hiking | 8-10 total time

Elevation: 1886ft

Food: Lunch provided

This is for those of you who like a bit of a challenge. These hikes may not be long but they are steep.

We meet and head north beyond the National Park to a couple of lesser-known trails that have some of the best views you’ll find on Cape Breton Island.

Multi-Day Guided Hiking Tours

Seawall Trail

The Seawall trail is a 48km thru-hike over some of the most rugged and breathtaking terrain on Cape Breton Island.

Difficulty: Advanced

Distance: 45-50kms

Duration: 4-days hiking (10-15km / day)

Elevation: approx 3000 ft (over 4 days)

Food: Meals provided

If you’re looking for a bucket list hiking experience this is it! Arguably the most difficult hike in Nova Scotia is the Seawall. This hike takes you well off-trail to some of the most remote and beautiful landscape you will not find anywhere else!

Backcountry Course

Difficulty: Moderate-Advanced

Distance: 25 kms

Duration: 2-days hiking (10-15km / day)

Elevation: approx 1200 ft (over 2 days)

Food: All Meals provided

This weekend-long course is designed to provide you with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to safely plan and lead any single or multi-day backcountry camping trip.

This is also a great overnight hiking experience for those on a limited time-frame but want to see some of the Cape Breton backcountry.
