Description
Explore one of the many hidden waterfalls Cape Breton has to offer on our half-day guided hike. This hike takes you off-trail along a valley brook to find a hidden waterfall deep within the Margaree mountainside. Reaching the final falls requires a bit of bushwhacking (LLIT specialty) and a short but steep descent into the base of the falls. On a hot day, you can take a dip in the pool at the base of the falls. This is a local tradition for anyone visiting a waterfall for the first time (no matter the season).
Our guides will give you a brief history of the area and early settlers as you make your way to the trailhead. If we have enough time, we’ll also stop at the local Salmon Museum on our way back to learn about the rich history of the Atlantic Salmon fishing culture on the Margaree River.
