Description
This two-hike challenge is for those who want to work for, what we think, are the most breathtaking views in all of Nova Scotia. Trust us, these hikes may not be long, BUT they are steep, the juice is well worth the squeeze! Meet us at LLIT HQ and head north beyond the National Park to a couple of lesser-known mountain trails that will take your breath away.
Along the way, our guides will give you a bit of the history of the communities you’ll drive through from Acadian villages to Gaelic-speaking coastal communities.
Hike 1
Distance: 4 km Round trip
Total Hike Time: 2-3 Hours
Elevation Gain: 1000 ft / 312 m
Terrain: Technical difficulty. The trail starts in a wooded forest and gradually changes to 400m of loose scree and rock.
Landscape: Hardwood Forest within a deep mountainous valley
Features: Rock peak overlooking the entire Aspy Bay w/ panoramic view
Hike 2
Distance: 3.7 km Round trip
Total Hike Time: 2-3 Hours
Elevation Gain: 886 ft / 277 m
Terrain: Moderate difficulty. The trail starts in A wooded forest with rocky footing and rope to help ascent.
Landscape: Hardwood Forest within a deep mountainous valley
Features: 2 Panoramic views of the inland river valley and ocean coastline in Meat Cove.
