BASECAMP 2026
Our new winter Basecamp, situated deep within the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, provides ski- and snowshoe-accessible shelter, streamlined logistics, permits, and direct access to remote terrain and high-alpine objectives.
Whether you’re planning a single overnight or settling in for a few days of exploration, Franey Basecamp is your winter refuge.
Use Basecamp only or register for one of our guided packages.
Our Locations
We now have two locations on the Cabot Trail!
Margaree Forks Location
Our original Margaree location is where our main base of operations is located. We have a small campground, offer paddling tours and rentals, Margaree River Tubing, camping gear rentals and have a food truck on site.
Hours of operations: 7 am - 7 pm

Ingonish Beach Location
Our newer and second location is based at Ingonish Beach inside the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. This location offers a small retail shop with fresh coffee, cold drinks, ice cream, camping supplies, and kayak / Sup / Camping gear rentals.
