Spring is one of the most beautiful times to explore Cape Breton Island. As the snow melts and the spring rains arrive, rivers and streams come rushing back to life. Across the Island, waterfalls grow stronger and louder, tumbling through forests and over rocky cliffs.

To celebrate this incredible time of year, Cape Breton Island hosts Waterfall Season, a four-week adventure filled with hiking, music, culture and plenty of waterfall chasing.

How to book.

  • Step one is to select which hike you would like to book from the menu below.

    • Hikes are broken up into 2 categories.

      • Free Group Hikes

      • Guided hikes with LLIT (small fee)

    If you’d like to register for multiple, please select ‘add to booking’ at the summary page.

    Each participant must sign up individually.

  • Once registered, please pay attention to your email. You’ll be sent information about each hike, which includes the meeting place and general info.

    For LLIT guided hikes, you’ll get the initial welcome email along with more info about the hike closer to the date.

  • All info regarding the hike will be sent to your email. Every participant is asked to fill out a waiver digitally before arriving to start the hike.

    The link will be provided to you once registration is completed.
